God's own child for 40 years

Today is my baptismal anniversary. There is a lady at church that is proud to tell others how many years she has been a Lutheran. I think sometimes us life long Lutherans take that for granted. Thank you to my parents for bringing me to the font at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Itasca, IL 40 years ago today. Thank you to Pastor Mueller for baptizing me in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Gracious Lord, we give thanks that in Holy Baptism we receive forgiveness of sins, deliverance from death and the devil, and eternal salvation. On this baptismal anniversary, bless me continually by Your Word and Spirit that I may faithfully keep the covenant into which I have been called, boldly confess my Savior, and finally share with all Your saints the joys of eternal life; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen (LSB page 310)

Today is also the day that Lamb 2 turns 7 1/2 and Ram celebrates his 10 1/2 anniversary of ordination into the holy ministry.

Thanks be to God!

Happy birthdays/anniversaries! What wonderful things to celebrate. I'm old enough I think there is only 1 living member of my family left who was there the day I was baptized nearly 62 years ago. I don't remember, of course, but am thankful, too, that my parents took me to the font. I remember with joy my sons' baptisms. And my grandson's!
